Designed to serve as a resource to public policy makers, it is the work product of the Barbara Jordan Institute for Policy Research (BJI) at Texas Southern University. By providing a platform to discuss contemporary public policy issues with a focus on minority and disadvantaged communities, we hope to challenge assumptions about race, gender, economics, and culture as well as offer a perspective that is often lacking in traditional media policy sources.
